20's Plenty for Broadwindsor

Support from Schools

The Head Teacher of Broadwindsor Primary School, Mr.Nigel Arnold has contacted the Highways Authority over several years regarding the speeding traffic past his school.

His latest contact was with Kevin Chelada, Road Space Manager at Dorset Highways on 2nd October 2012.  He received a response from Steve Groves, Highways Structures Maintenance Technician, stating that the road outside the school already had enough signage and that he wasn't sure that more signing would be the answer.

He also said that as it is a 30 mph limit outside the school, reducing it to 20 would not achieve much as drivers are already ignoring what is there.

He also stated that if drivers are ignoring the speed limit then the greatest benefit would come from enforcing what is already there, as any other measures would likely to be similarily ignored.

I BELIEVE THAT CHILDREN NEED A 20MPH LIMIT NOT AN UNENFORCED 30 MPH LIMIT

PLEASE CONTACT DEBBIE WARD CHIEF EXECUTIVE OF DORSET COUNTY COUNCIL TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR OUR CHILDRENS SAFETY
